HEPA is efficient up to 99.97% with 0.3 microns
You need to be sure that you are getting a genuine HEPA filtered device. If it is not true
HEPA you will not receive all of the benefits that HEPA can provide. To make sure that it is HEPA, you should check that it actually says on the literature that comes
with it that it is a true or genuine HEPA device.
Genuine HEPA will leave the room cleaner
HEPA filters are guaranteed to filter air of particles that are
0.3 microns and larger. At this specification it will remove pollen, dander, molds, bacteria and dust mites from the air in the room you are treating.
Genuine
HEPA will have a serial number
HEPA filters were made during World War II. Its intended function was to serve to clean up free floating nuclear materials.
Today, one method of ascertaining whether or not it is genuine HEPA is to check for a serial number. Genuine HEPA devices will have a serial number that is issued
by the U.S. Department of Energy.
HEPA will cost more than other filters
You will also need to be aware that HEPA filters will cost more than other
filtering devices. But that is ok as they perform better than other devices.
No secondary byproducts unless ionizing
One of the features that make
HEPA a good buy is that when they are used they produce no harmful byproducts. There are some units that produce ozone when they are used. These are the
ones that also have an ionization feature. This feature is not necessary for treating eczema and other allergies.
Machine needs the capacity to use
them
If you are using a HEPA filter, you need to make sure that the machine you are fitting it to have the necessary resources in terms of power function
along with a heavier filter. HEPA filters are heavy devices when compared to other filters and machines need to have more pulling power to operate them. If the
machine is not strong enough it will not do the work you intended it to do.
